KATIE'S FALL 1ST GRADE FIELD TRIP

This year I went with Katie on her fall Field trip, I thought it would be a good one to take Izzie along. We went to a farm where they make a lot out of apples. They showed the kids how Apple Cider was made. They also let everyone taste some Apple butter. Then we got a ride in a wagon pulled by a tractor. To go out to the fields and pick an Apple. It was really good. We would have felt guilty if we didn't bring any home for everyone else so we did. Then they all got to go out to the Pumpkin Patch and pick a little pumpkin. Izzie thought that was great. She picked one for Allie, Noah, and herself. It was so cute. I was really glad I got to go with Katie on this field trip and spend some special time with her.

Izzie thought it was so cool that she found a green pumpkin.

LITTLE HUMANS

A little over a year ago. I got called to be the 1st councilor in the Primary. At the time I thought they were completely crazy but I thought maybe it would be a good experience until they told me I had to teach sharing time once in a while. Then the panic sank in.

Anyone who knows me, knows I like not to be noticed much, and stay in my little corner at church. I do not like public speaking and would probably rather die than to have too. Not that I am scared of the kids it was more of the grown ups that were in the room. I didn't feel confident in my knowledge of the gospel and sometimes I still don't. Also did I mention I had never even been a primary teacher before. Along the way I wanted to give up but had encouragement from some to keep going. (thank you!) I really felt that I would never be good or feel ok with getting up in front of the little humans (hehehe Gray's Anatomy lingo). But I have to say it HAS gotten way better and I realize the other adults are just glad they don't have to teach.

IN FACT TODAY I think I ROCKED!!!

TREASURER CONT.

Today(Friday Oct, 22nd) they announced who won!!!! Unfortunately it wasn't Allie :( But she liked the experience it was fun for her. The girl who won is Allie's friend and she was happy for her. Allie thought as soon as she heard she was going for treasurer too. That her friend would probably win. She said she wins everything. Just one of those girls who are good at it all. She handled it well and came home in good spirits so that's all I could ask for. Here are some pics of the cute posters she made for her campaigned. Fun, fun, fun

But she still is happy!

TREASURER

Ever since school started Allie was really interested in running for something in student council. The Principle even asked her if she was thinking about it. He really encouraged her to run for something. He told her he thought she had a good personality for it.

Well the process has began. She first had to write in about why she would be a good leader and have 10 people sign saying they nominate her. Then the ASB board had decide from there who gets to run.

Allie was picked she was sooooo excited. They gave all the candidates posters to decorate for themselves she got started on them that night. When we get them back I will have to take some pics of them.

Then today she had to give a speech to the 4th and 5th graders. She was nervous but never scared. If only I had her personality. I tell you what- she is going to go some where.

Waiting her turn

Giving her speech. I think she did really well. But it is a mothers opinion

Very relieved afterward. Can you tell?

The clip of her speech wouldn't down load soooooo sorry!

We will let you know if she wins tomorrow. Either way if she wins or not it was a great experience for her.

1ST DAY

Yes I know the first day of school was a while ago. I also didn't have a camera because my children have broken it. Soooooo lucky for me I have one on my phone so here is the first day of school. Allie is now a 5th grader that is the last grade in our Elementary school :( That means I am going to be a mother of a middle schooler soon. aaaaah!

Noah went into third grade

Katie is in 1st. She likes it but she says it is a lot harder than kindergarten.

I really enjoy where we live and walking the kids to school. It is so nice and peaceful in the morning.

RANDOM GOING ON'S

Well it's been awhile since I have blogged and our Camera recently has been broken by children being creative. So our pics are now all from Iphones. Lame! But at least I still have some sort of camera.
Hahahaha! Izzie is always keeping us laughing. She has such a great personality.

We like to go hang out at our friends The Woods. Lane is our buddy.

Noah loves our friend Paul. Every time he comes over he brings some sort of Musical instrument the kids can play with him. Noah especially loves it. He is pretty good too. We all got together at Grandma Debbie's the last time and Rocked it out with bongo drums. hehehe
Yep!!!!
That's all I have to say.
SHE WILL NOT KEEP HER CLOTHES ON.

REMEMBERING ROCKY

This was Rocky. Our pet squirrel. He had become part of our family. How did we acquire a pet squirrel, you ask???? Well Noah being the animal lover he is, saved him from our dog Chance. After its mom dropped him trying to get away from Chance. Noah saw that he had the baby and went and hit Chance with our plastic bat tell he dropped it. Sounds terrible but honestly its like a nice back massage for our dog. It doesn't even phase him.
Then Noah ran in and asked if he could pick up the squirrel. I am really glad that he asked because knowing him he would just pick it up. I wasn't sure what diseases he might carry so I had him use some newspaper to pick it up. Then we looked on the Internet to see what to do and if it was OK to handle. We found out that there were no diseases to worry about and learned that to feed it we needed to get Kitty formula. Did you know there was such thing???? I didn't hahaha.
So after that he was the little baby of the fam. We nursed it every 2 hours and even took him to Silverwood Amusement Park with us in a little pocket in our back pack. I know weird. We had him for about 2 1/2 weeks and he seemed to be thriving but unfortunately he passed away one morning and Noah was devastated. He was really upset all day. It was sad. We had just had a lesson in sharing time at church about Jesus has power over death and Noah asked if we prayed to Jesus if he would come back alive. It broke my heart. I told him we could pray for comfort and ask for Rocky to be safe. Maybe some day we will be lucky enough to have another little Rocky. But for now it was a great little experience for our family.
