HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012

I'm a little behind on blogging for this year. With me working full time, being in the Relief Society Presidency and trying to be a good mom. I am not finding time for this. I really want to keep up on it though so I have some sort of journal and scrap book for my family. I'm just getting to the New Year's celebration. Our New Year started out a little rough with Chris's broken foot and I recovering from surgery. Lucky for us my mom was there to help. On New Years eve I FINELY was feeling up to doing something. Good thing too, because my mom left the next day. Thank you mom for saving us. We really appreciated it.

OH CHRISTMAS TREE

I forgot to post our Christmas tree excursion. Chris had gotten permission to get a tree from a tree farm for free. We went and took our family pics at the farm and then we picked our tree out. We brought it home and put it up. The kids were a lot more help this year. It made it fun.

Merry Christmas

We had a good Christmas. The kids- I think were up at about 3:00AM. I could hear them sneaking down stairs to get a peak. Then they waited until 5:00 to wake us up. We made them wait on the stairs for a picture then we went to the presents. After they were all open. I crashed I slept practically all day on the couch. Since I had, had surgery just the week before I think I had over done it on Christmas Eve. Chris and my mom took the kids to church and left Izzie home with me for a nap. Which was perfect because Izzie and I just slept some more. Thank goodness my mom has been here since I had surgery because I was completely worthless for a week. It has been a lot harder recovery than I had expected. Hope everyone had a great Holiday. Merry Christmas!!

CHRISTMAS EVE

We have a tradition we do every year with a family we are friends with. We have a nice Christmas Eve dinner and then we do the reenactment of the story of Jesus birth. We have music and songs with it. First Katie played Oh come all ye faithful, then Jared played his Cello for the other songs and we sang along. The kids and dads helped with the story and Izzie loved being the Angel. Evie wanted to be the donkey which was Eyor from our Halloween costumes but made it fun. Then at the end Allie sang the first verse of Silent night and Jared and Evie played the other 2 verses on the piano as a duet for us all to sing too they did very good. Then Katie played Jingle bells and Noah sang with her.

Then this year the Jammie elf came to both families they were so excited. Except Mathew was very sad that it wasn't a toy. Then shortly after that we headed home in hopes Santa would come to our house.

SANTA FLOAT

Every year there is a float that comes through our neighborhood that has Santa and some elf's on it. It is headed by a couple fire trucks that announce he is coming. It was super foggy this year and I wasn't sure if he would still do it. To our surprise he did. The kids could hear him coming and ran out to wait for him. He stoped and gave them a candy cane and wished them a Merry Christmas! This is the first year I think Izzie is excited about Santa. She was super excited that he went right past our house.

ALLIE CHOIR CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Allie had a Choir Christmas Concert right before Christmas break. She was so excited because she was asked to give a solo on Silent Night. She did so good. Chris and I were very proud. After she had a lot of comments from parents and her teacher is really impressed. Made her very happy and boosted her confidence.
Wish I could post video but blogger has not allowed me too in years and I don't know why.

HUBBY AND HUNTING

Like I said in an earlier post I am not a huge fan of hunting season because I feel like a single mom. But I do like when I have a freezer full of meat for the year. This year Chris was lucky and got to go with a friend and hunt on there family property where they do guided hunts. He got an Elk which did fill our freezer. We did a big part of it into hamburger then the rest steaks and a few roasts. It was worth the singleness for all the meat. He was not lucky on deer this year. Always next year.
